Qualification Overview
The ESOL International (CEF B2) is a single-unit qualification assessing all four language components:
- Reading
- Listening
- Writing
- Speaking
The total duration for completing this qualification is approx. 256 hours.
Administration and Assessment Delivery
The ESOL International (CEF B2) exam lasts 2 hours and 46 minutes. The main test session (covering reading, listening, and writing) is conducted in a single sitting, lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes. Speaking tests are scheduled between one to three days before or after the main test.

In partnership with NOCN and GlobalCert, the Certificate in ESOL International (CEF B2) is tailored for "non-native English" speakers looking to enhance their English language abilities to CEFR Level B2. This qualification requires candidates to demonstrate the ability to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of topics and articulate viewpoints on contemporary issues, considering the advantages and disadvantages of various options. The expected level of proficiency aligns with the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
